More than 60 years of work, dedication, and knowledge

Dos Búhos is our family’s collective dream, a reflection of our passion for art, architecture, agriculture, and wine. Our story in San Miguel de Allende began in 1956, long before the region became known as a wine destination.

Our Story

T h r e e G e n e r a t i o n s , O n e V i s i o n

What began with fruit trees and vegetables grew into more than 60 years of accumulated knowledge about climate and land. In 2006, that agricultural calling took root with our first vineyard. Today, we still follow the principle that founded this winery. Quality is not negotiable.

We draw on the gifts of an exceptional terroir, so every bottle is the most honest expression of who we are.

Our Roots

M o r e T h a n S i x D e c a d e s o f L e g a c y

1956-1967

Family Arrival

Our family arrives in San Miguel de Allende and acquires the 420-hectare ranch (75 hectares today) at the base of Los Picachos in 1967.

1968-1970

55,000 Fruit Trees

We planted a total of 55,000 fruit trees, mostly peach, apricot, and almond, along with an experimental field of apples and pears.

1990-1991

End of the Orchards

The last fruit harvest comes in, and the ranch shifts to organic vegetable production, including broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, onion, garlic, and legumes.

2000

Fully Organic

The ranch converts entirely to organic farming.

2006

Pioneer Vineyard

We plant our first vineyard, 3.5 hectares, in one of the few regions in the country that grows wine grapes.

2018

Expansion to 12 Hectares

Grape production expands to 12 hectares.

2019

Restored Estate

The restoration of the main estate house is complete, along with the new production cellars.

Our Philosophy

A L i v i n g L a n d , A b s o l u t e R e s p e c t f o r N a t u r e

Since 2000, we have managed our land 100% organically, without pesticides. We believe in a living ecosystem where each element plays a vital role in our soil’s health.

In the cellar, our philosophy is simple. Let the fruit shine. We use traditional winemaking techniques focused on texture, structure, and complexity, with minimal intervention.

From hand-harvesting our finest grapes to ancient techniques like underground amphora aging for our orange wine, the result is vibrant, natural wines that capture the essence of Guanajuato.
